STÁŽ: EuroHealthNet – CIRI Research Intern


EuroHealthNet is a leading Partnership for improving health, equity and well-being, and consists of bodies responsible for public health and health promotion in EU states. Our office is based in Brussels on Rue de la Loi, close to the EU institutions.  From here we co-ordinate research, policy and capacity building activities to help improve health determinants and address health inequalities. About the internship

The role of the CIRI intern is to support and learn from the work of our experienced multinational team of professionals skilled in research, evaluation and knowledge transfer and translation. The intern will mostly contribute to our new exciting Horizon2020 research project called INHERIT on health equity, environmental sustainability and lifestyles. This project aims to encourage us to modify our current lifestyles, characterized by a ‘take, make, consume, dispose’ model of growth, to formulate scenarios for a more sustainable future, and to design, implement and test inter-sectoral initiatives to achieve the desired change.   1. Research: conducting literature reviews and literature analysis; monitoring outputs from relevant sources of scientific and policy information; helping develop our library of information through literature research and reporting; help with the search, documentation and evaluation of good practices.
  2. Events and documents: as part of a team, you will help organise research projects meetings and will take an active role in drafting blogs and responses to consultations, and in producing fact-sheets reporting scientific evidence to a varied audience.
  3. Contributing to cross-cutting work programme elements: as part of a team, you will actively work on internal and external communications, capacity building and knowledge development, administration and events organisation.


  • You are educated to at least degree level in a relevant field;
  • You should be interested in and have some knowledge of health, public health or health inequalities and/or environment and sustainability;
  • You have some knowledge of the research arena at the European level and of the EU institutions;
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (native speaker level), knowledge of other European languages is an asset;
  • You have an ability to listen to, understand and communicate detailed and complex subjects;
  • You have a proactive mind-set, willing to take the initiative, and a pragmatic approach to problem solving;
  • You are able to work on multiple tasks simultaneously to meet rapidly changing projects and priorities;


This internship is offered full-time for 6 months. It will be offered according to Belgian national legislation.

The CIRI intern will report directly to EuroHealthNet’s CIRI Research Senior Co-ordinator.

All applicants must be qualified, eligible and able to work in Belgium.  We are unfortunately not able to provide financial assistance to relocate to Brussels/Belgium.

For this position, EuroHealthNet offers a monthly compensation of €751, as well as benefits such as meal vouchers, financial support to use public transport to get to work and hospital insurance.
