Organizational Setting
There are five Offices Reporting to the IAEA Director General: the Office for Coordination, the Secretariat of the Policy-Making Organs, the Office of Internal Oversight Services, the Office of Legal Affairs and the Office of Public Information and Communication.
The Office of Public Information and Communication provides objective, accurate and timely information about the IAEA and nuclear developments to foster public understanding of the IAEA’s global roles. The Office also provides advice to the Director General on his relations with the media and organized his press briefings. The Office coordinates the communication activities for the rest of the IAEA and assists in the media aspects of major IAEA events and conferences.

The Media, Multimedia and Public Outreach Section has corporate responsibility for relations with the media and the public, as well as for producing audio and video materials to promote the IAEA’s activities.

Main Purpose
OPIC’s Multimedia Unit is expanding its output significantly, especially the production of videos for social media channels and video packages for news outlets. The Junior Multimedia Producer Consultant works closely with the Social Media Video Producer and Multimedia Electronics Assistant. The purpose of this consultancy is to produce video and audio interviews and features to raise the IAEA’s profile, promote the less well-known areas of the IAEA’s work on multiple platforms, and to promote positive coverage of the IAEA by international media.


Functions / Key Results Expected
  • Identifies topics of interest to cover for multimedia products.
  • Conducts interviews, writes and records narrations.
  • Produces audio packages and arranges audio interviews.
  • Provides advice to the Multimedia Producer regarding promotion and dissemination of video and audio materials to broadcasters and among UN and other international organisations.


Qualifications, Experience and Language Skills

  • University degree in communications or broadcast journalism.
  • Minimum of two years of working experience as Multimedia Producer.
  • Presentation and interviewing skills.
  • Proven audio and vide production experience.
  • Understanding of the use of social media channels for videos.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English. Knowledge of other IAEA official languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) an asset.
The remuneration for this consultancy is a daily fee of up to a maximum of € 250, based on qualifications and experience. In case duty travel is required within the assignment, a daily subsistence allowance (DSA) and travel costs are provided. Health coverage and pension fund are the responsibility of the incumbent.
