You can expect extensive responsibilities and plenty of challenge as you prepare our annual financial statements in line with International Public Sector Accounting Standards, supervise treasury activities and daily cash-flow follow up, and resolve any discrepancies with customers or representatives from member states. Equally importantly, you will reconcile general ledger accounts, oversee accounting for fixed assets and manage payment orders, whilst collaborating closely with internal and external auditors and other financial professionals.
Alongside a degree level qualification in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or Public Administration or a similar discipline, you will bring a strong track record in financial management or accounting. Naturally, you will be fully versed in applying financial rules and regulations, skilled in budgeting and financial administration, and familiar with a broad spectrum of accounting software, and you will ideally bring some knowledge of IFRS and/or IPSAS accounting. Finally, it is essential that you can communicate effectively in English or French, with some command of the other language.
