This position is advertised on part time (19 hours/0.5FTE per week), on a 12 month, fixed term contract.
Amnesty International’s European Institutions Office in Brussels coordinates and promotes our, advocacy and campaigning directed at decision-makers in the European Union and Council of Europe (CoE). We seek to ensure that the EU integrates human rights into its internal and external policies and that the CoE and its member states take tangible action to promote and protect human rights nationally and regionally.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
As the Finance and Office Assistant, you will have the opportunity to provide assistance and support to facilitate the smooth management of the EIO Office. You will aid the Finance and Office Manager to manage all finance, human resources, facilities, legal, IT and administrative matters of the office. Focusing on administrative aspects, you will coordinate the information flow from the EIO and contribute to good communication systems between the office and other International Secretariat (IS) programmes. You will perform accounting activities (whilst ensuring compliance with all laws and regulations), and will provide administrative support for appropriate human resources services.
With prior experience in an administrative office, you will be bi-lingual; fluent in written and spoken English and French (and/or Dutch.) An advanced communicator with excellent multi-tasking skills, you will be familiar in dealing with suppliers including officers within government administrative functions. You will be have substantial experience in book-keeping and will be proficient in providing support and best practice guidance in human resources matters and will be well-practiced in monitoring budgets and identifying budget problems.
