Based in Strasbourg, France, the Council of Europe brings together 47 member states to protect and promote human rights, democracy and the rule of law throughout Europe and beyond. In this important position, you will help ensure that we maintain the highest standards of professionalism and integrity as you co-ordinate and undertake investigations of potential fraud and corruption.
Adhering closely to policies and financial regulations, you will examine cases impartially, objectively and thoroughly before presenting reports and recommendations. In addition, you will need to carry out and advise on fraud risk assessments, and articulate positive changes to our rules and regulations in line with best practice. At the same time, you will prepare training materials and organise seminars on fraud-related issues, so you will require strong communication and organisational skills.
An experienced and confident investigator, you will be qualified to degree level in auditing, finance, law or a related discipline and will be familiar with risk analysis, interviewing and report writing. Chances are you will bring formal training in investigations and experience of public sector organisations, but more importantly you will be focused and fair-minded, with the ability to deal with diverse stakeholders and communicate effectively in English or French.
